BRITISH PEST CONTROL ASSOCIATION

The provision of pest management and control services is an area which is often overlooked, however inadequate pest control can often have catastrophic effects economically, socially and on the public's health. BPCA promotes the highest standards of professionalism within the industry, allowing only organisations that prove their competence to join as members.

It's our role to:

  • Highlight the risks of inadequate control
  • Offer guidance in what to look for when searching for a pest control contractor
  • Provide general pest advice and guidance documentation
  • Provide advice on how to select an appropriate pest control professional.

ROYAL SOCIETY FOR PUBLIC HEALTH

Established in 1856, the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) is an independent campaigning and educational charity dedicated to improving and protecting the health of people just like you – both in the United Kingdom and around the world.

Our Membership includes thousands of healthcare professionals, food safety specialists, environmental health experts, policy makers, academics, students and many other people from all walks of life, who share one thing in common - we care passionately about protecting the public's health.

To help fund our work - and safeguard our independent voice - we offer a variety of services that contribute in different ways to fulfilling our vision. Whether that involves educating people directly through our Qualifications, Training them in their workplaces or schools, publishing our respected peer-reviewed journals (Public Health and Perspectives in Public Health) or by providing Accreditation for third-party health campaigns and training programmes.

BASIS PROMPT

PROMPT ensures that pest control is carried out responsibly by people who are properly trained and competent. The BASIS PROMPT Pest Controllers register is an industry initiative which provides independent proof that a pest controller has received proper training and continues to update their expertise.

CAMPAIGN FOR RESPOSIBLE RODENTICIDE USE

The rodenticide industry recognises the need to ensure that rodenticides are used correctly and in ways that minimise the exposure of wildlife and other non-target animals. CRRU was established to promote responsible use of rodenticides among all user groups, including professional pest controllers, farmers and gamekeepers.

CRRU promotes responsible use through a seven point Code of Practice.
